Assistance with recovery from long-term or excessive substance abuse.
Provides specialized nutritional support for recovery from substance abuse, stress, insomnia, and depression. Especially designed to help restore adrenals and natural energy production.
Passages Replenishment is formulated to address deficiencies in excitatory neurotransmitters, or those that give you energy. It will also replenish the body by supporting adrenal function and deficient dopamine levels, which are almost always low after withdrawal from substance abuse. Chronic substance abuse wears down the adrenal glands, which are essential for energy production and numerous other functions, including sexual and immune function, to name a few. Passages Replenishment should be started along with Passages Serenity after withdrawal from addictive substances. After three months, if your symptoms are improving (that is, you have decreased anxiety, depression, and cravings and improved sleep and energy), continue Passages Serenity and Passages Replenishment for six to twelve months.
Passages Replenishment helps replenish the depleted energy neurosubstances and it helps to correct the adrenal fatigue that occurs with extreme stress in individuals who have abused drugs. The excitatory (or energy) neurotransmitters that are supported by this formula are dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and glutamate. The Replenishment formula supplements that support the excitatory (energy-producing) neurotransmitters are folic acid, B12, trimethylglycine, N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, pantethine, and Eleutherococcus senticosus.
(Note: The recommended dosage is one Passages Replenishment capsule each morning for one week after withdrawal then two Passages Replenishment capsules each morning after the first week.)

Vitamin B6 benefits a multitude of our body processes. One of the key benefits of vitamin B6 is that it is used in combination with a series of enzymes to process amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks for neurotransmitters. B6 is crucial for the metabolism of amino acids in the intestine and it assists specific amino acids to be absorbed and utilized by the body. The formation of neurological chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and epinephrine depend on Vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is also essential for the maintenance of immune system function. B6 has been shown to have specific clinical effects on the nervous system, including stress and anxiety reduction and improvement in depression. When taking B6, be sure you are ingesting less than 250 mg per day, as higher doses have been associated with a nerve disorder called neuropathy.
Folic acid, or Vitamin B9 , is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. More importantly, it assists the proper functioning of the digestive and nervous system. Folic acid is crucial for the production of the genetic materials DNA and RNA. Thus, it is essential for healing. It also helps prevent heart disease. Folic acid deficiency can impede growth, decrease appetite, and create a sore tongue, poor memory, and diarrhea. Good food sources of folic acid include green leafy vegetables, rice beans, legumes, salmon, and soy beans.
B12, or cobalamin, is needed for the production of red blood cells and is crucial for the balanced function of the nervous system. Neurological symptoms such as numbness in the feet and hands, fatigue, depression, loss of memory, and mouth sores can result from the deficiency of vitamin B12. Good food sources of B12 include meat, eggs, dairy products, fish, and shellfish.
Trimethylglycine, or betaine, helps protect the liver. It assists in the formation of SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine), which has been shown in several studies to be effective in the treatment of depression, osteoarthritis, and liver disease. Trimethylglycine may also help protect the liver against the effects of alcohol. Trimethyglycine functions closely with folic acid, B12, and SAMe. All of these are active methyl donors and thus carry methyl groups to assist essential body chemistry, including cellular replication, liver function, and detoxification reactions. These substances assist in balancing excitatory neurotransmitters and detoxification.
N-acetyl-L-tyrosine is metabolized to L-tyrosine, which is a precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine and epinephrine neurotransmitters. All three of these neurotransmitters are essential for excitation, or energy. Dopamine is biosynthesized in the body by nerve tissue and in the adrenal glands from L-tyrosine.
Pantethine is a biologically active form of vitamin B5 and is crucial for the production of stress and sex-related hormones produced in the adrenal glands. Adrenal means “ad” (next to) and “renal” (kidney). In other words, they are little glands that sit above the kidneys. Pantethine is not only essential for the synthesis of hormones but is also important for the production of red blood cells and cholesterol. It also helps in cell production and the development of the central nervous system. Vitamin B5 helps to maintain the digestive tract and it helps the body utilize B2 (riboflavin). B2 is another vitamin useful for dealing with stress because it enhances the immune system and improves immunity by assisting in the process of synthesizing antibodies.
Eleutherococcus senticosus is a root herb that has been used for hundreds of years in Chinese and Eastern medicine to improve energy. It is now recognized in Western medical circles to be an adaptogen, which is an herb that supports the body and helps reverse stress, trauma, anxiety, and fatigue, especially adrenal fatigue. Eastern medicine refers to the “toning” effect of this herb, which means it has a normalizing, balancing effect by reducing hyper-functioning systems or increasing hypo-functioning systems.
