The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure: Stay Happy and Optimistic

Thanks again for the call. It was really nice talking to you, and even nicer to know that you really do follow through! It is very rare to find such heartfelt and honest dedication. Also, I wanted to relay another testimonial. After a month of living clean, I found a perfect part-time job. The job was mine, so they sent me for a drug screening. I figured after a month of being clean, working out daily, and going to the sauna and steam room, that I would test clean. I was wrong. I still tested positive for marijuana. Of course, I was disappointed, and of course my initial emotional response was just to give up and go get drunk, stoned, and inebriated on any number of substances. As I stated before, this time is different. Armed with new insights and strengths from the ""Cure"", lessons from ""Becoming Your Authentic Self"", and the wonderful energy of your phone call, instead of caving in, I went to the gym and worked out. Thanks to the incredible work you and your father do, this time is definitely different.
Also, as you know, I don't have the resources to pay for a psychologist (I have not had many good experiences with them anyway), so I went to my Catholic Priest who deals with people who are trying to cure their dependencies. I discussed your philosophy with him, and he was in full agreement. He stated the obvious; that the 12 step approach is very negative, and the results are grim at best. He made it clear that I need to stay happy and optimistic, and that I must remember that I am a blessed child of God, and that all experiences are for my greater good. I know that I am on the right path!
Finally, I wanted to give you written permission to use whatever I send you as you see fit. If I say something that may help you, or you feel that others may benefit from it, please, by all means, use it! I stated in our conversation that I wanted to send you a video testimonial. I am not having much success acquiring the video camera, so I will do it using my computer's video. I will work on it this weekend and early next week, and should be able to transmit it to you electronically. If it is to large, I will burn it on a CD and mail it to you.
